Week 6: Pauline & Jon's Weight Loss Diary

Pauline – end of week 6

How I’m feeling:
Less overweight and curvier.

Weight loss update:
Lost 1.1 kilos, total to date 7.5 Kilos.

Biggest challenge in the last week:
Being stuck inside more than normal because of the bad weather meant I had to deal with my boredom and that led to a lot of cravings for sweet food.  So I had to get very creating and come up with some TV friendly alternatives such a cupcake with the pizza dough and cookies with hot chocolate.

Biggest success in the last week:
Hearing a few people tell me I was looking really well.

Jon – end of week 6

How I’m feeling:
Delighted with myself after getting my first Inbody results since starting the programme and seeing all the good work in writing.

Weight loss update:
I lost 3.1 kilos; I have lost 12.6 Kilos to date.

Biggest challenge in the last week:
I felt a little down after dropping Finn back with his mum the other day and went into the supermarket to buy some vegetables and did take a few moments to gaze at all the bake goods and was tempted to eat my feelings, but I stayed strong and just bought the carrots instead.   

Biggest success in the last week:
I discovered carrot chips which are delicious and a good side dish with any of the savoury options.

After a week of feeling under the weather I am now back to myself.

This week I had my first review with Dr Robson where I got to stand on the InBody machine and get a full breakdown on what I have achieved since starting the programme. As Pauline and I both had said at the start of this journey although a big motivation of ours is to lose weight for the wedding more than that we want to be healthier and that is where the InBody machine comes in. At the start of this programme I had no clue what an Inbody machine was or what it actually does and while I don’t pretend to be an expert by any means now I do know that it gives you a comprehensive overview of what is going on inside in regard to your body fat percentage, muscle mass and visceral fat which is the fat that surrounds all your vital organs otherwise known as very bad fat and can be very dangerous.

My results showed that all the above figures had dropped which is the result I really wanted apart from my muscle mass that had also dropped and Sam said that is the one figure you want to increase not lose. To build muscle Sam told me that I need to make sure I am taking all my sachets but also, I need to move a bit more so that is my next challenge to be more active and both Pauline and I have started looking at various activities we can start doing so watch this space...
