Week 21: Pauline & Jon's Weight Loss Diary

Pauline – end of week 21

How I’m feeling:
I am feeling really tired and overwhelmed with everything and have struggled with resisting comfort food this week.  I am so excited by the prospect of getting married but at the same time exhausted with the preparations. I so want everything to be perfect – and I know that this is making me anxious.

Weight loss update:
I lost 0.4kg so to date I have lost 20.2kg just past the 3 stone mark.

Biggest challenge in the last week:
Staying motivated. I have to keep reminding myself how far I have come and how good I feel being slimmer and fitter than I can really remember. I know I need to find effective ways to comfort myself when I am feeling stress and not drift back into bad habits with eating rubbish.

Biggest success in the last week:
I had to get more taken in on my wedding dress at my 2nd fitting.

Jon – end of week 21

How I’m feeling:
I feel more on track after my difficult week last week. It was a wake-up call to discover how easy it was to slip back into old eating habits. I keep reminding myself now about how I actually felt later and the next day – sluggish and demotivated.

Weight loss update:
I lost 2.1kg this week so to date I have lost 27.9kg which is 4 stone and 4 pounds

Biggest challenge in the last week:
I have had a really sore back and have found it difficult to do my exercises. Much as I hate the idea of using a personal trainer, I am seriously considering whether having someone advise me on my exercise technique might avoid these problems in the future.

Biggest success in the last week:
Getting back on track. Usually I would have given up but I do feel I am learning to become my own cheerleader when I am not doing so well.
